- FolgersExplorerI own a 2012 240bhs. Just picked it up in April and have only taken one trip in it so far. with my 3 kids 5 years old and under, it is the best layout. the super large u-shaped dinette is awesome. it was raining out first day out this year and there was tons of room to sit around the table and play games with the kids. Because the queen is just to the front, you can also sit around on the bed or lay down and still be part of whatever is going on. the bunks are tight for height in the back but with the kids they love it. my 5 year old has his own fort made out of the top bunk. My wife did buy some bed rails to keep the kids in there because it's a long way down from the top 2. the storage door at the back is also a great feature with the flip up bed. tons of space for all your lighter gear, not to load the tail. I did have trouble finding one to buy actually. They are either not popular or once someone gets their hands on it, they don't trade or resell them. I managed to find it at Niagara Trailers in Niagara Falls Ontario and they also had a new 2013 in stock at the time. Other then that Advanced Camping in Milwaukee WI seemed to have several. if there is something specific you would like to know just ask.
- 3LittleDucksExplorerThanks, that's part of why we went with jack & jills, they feel a little more spacious than the triple bunk set up, or the double over double, though it is possible that the kids will outgrow them at some point.
- CarolinaHokieExplorerWe have two sets of double bunks and three kids 10,13,16. Problem is, because of a headspace thing (think hitting your head on the ceiling when you sit up in bed). NONE of my kids really want to sleep on the top bunks. My daughter prefers to sleep on the sofa, which is short for her, but more comfortable overall. I just want to make sure your kids really would sleep in bunks as they continue to grow.
- 3LittleDucksExplorerThanks! Will check it out for fun, but we settled on an HTT with jack & jill bunks. :)
- 3ringcircusExplorerThe newer Spree 240 BHS does come with the option of a murphy bed in place of the walk around queen and a slide out dinette. We have been wanting to see this particular model to be able to get in and see how it works out with the kiddos ourselves. There aren't that many in the entire US for sale, maybe 4. The closest we've come to actually seeing the same floorplan is the Cruiser FunFinder X X262bhs. It has the same layout, not nearly the same fit and finish as the Spree at all though. We really like the 3 bunk layout with the bike storage door. A fellow poster, OZandUs, has a 2008 Spree 240bhs if I recall correctly. He could give you a lot of insight on the actual trailer. He's done some really cool mods to his too. The Lance 2185 is a great trailer, though a little pricier. Happy hunting!
- Mortimer_BrewstExplorer IIHere is a YouTube link for the Spree 240 BHS. It shows the layout of the triple bunks in the Spree. If you can afford it slides are very nice to have - especially on a rainy day. The resale value of the TT will be better as well.
- WoodGlueExplorerI made this a clicky for you:
Have you looked at The Lance 2185?
It comes with the option of a fold over queen sized bed that allows that space to be a nice sofa.
