From looking at the
Floor Plans, I would not think so. With the refer at the foot & side of the bed & the slide out next to the other side. No way could the bed be "turned" sideways to have it stick into the cabin instead of across form side to side. With the slide to come in it has to have room there.
It might make it easier to get in & out if your heads were toward the refer end. Gives more 'climbing' over & out room.
We are in our 60s as well & we sleep on a very narrow Scamp's bed. With a room Queen, it would really be neat.
I'm the one having to get up at night & I am taller (6' & the Scamp's bed is rounded one side near the front = less length for feet), I get the outside.
We sleep head to toe, gives us more elbow room & my CPAP machines doesn't bother her.
I like the floor plan, wouldn't mind having one of them at all.
But what works for one, will not for someone else. If it is too much to overcome, check out the
Fun Finder F-210 UDS. Or the Fun Finder
F-210 WBS. Both with Exterior Length 21' 9"; Exterior Width -8'. Versus: Exterior Length 18' 9" & Exterior Width -7'.
The
Fun Finder F-189 FDS is a smaller TT with somewhat more room on the side or the edge of the bed, which might make it easier to get in & out of the bed. But not a 'walk around'. But no Jack Knife Couch. However, the Dinette can be made into a bed.
Happy Hunting.
Post Add: One of you could sleep on the Jack Knife Couch or the Dinette Bed. Maybe take turns on it.
๐I see there is a 'Full Pass Thru' at the 'foot' of the bed. The one on the inside could exit via it & not bother the other. I've seen TT with those half door-like opening by the beds.
Kind of like Escape hatches, but could be used for other things as well. Also it would be a help in making the bed & tucking in the covers at the foot (or head, if using it as such).
But on a second look, I believe this is not what it is. Seems to be a pass thru under the bed. Not a Exit Door. Disregard. :S
It was plainly so in the larger TT floor plans an under the bed pass thru.
Fun Finder 189 FBS is a nice little trailer as seen on this
YouTube Video & quite a bit larger than our Scamp. The pass thru door is for Storage for sure.
