Better outdoor speakers

I have the factory Jensen MS5006W outside speakers. They are shot, and I never did like them.

What else is out there that will drop in and is a better quality unit?

Then don't bother posting on this thread.....and judging the OP at the same time.

STFU.

Sorry, but I don't see any judging in there. Guess you misread my post.

A good quality marine speaker will work. Alternatively, I buy weatherproof speakers here, at US Speaker (they are not cheap, though)

This right here!
I`ll need to replace my cheap factory ones soon and will be doing some research on the best available. I may make some enclosures for behind them so they sound better.

There are a number of good aftermarket speakers or mobile audio speaker kits available. The best pricing is usually through an online reseller like sonic electronics or similar. Look for speakers that have the correct impedance for your system (4 ohm, 8 ohm) and are built with materials that are weather impervious: Carbon fiber or polypropylene cones and magnesium or aluminum frames. FWIW, I have a set of CTX speakers in the truck (carbon fiber on magnesium frame) and the truck will be rusting out around those speakers.

Ay US Speaker, linked to above, some of the Faital Pro speakers are weatherproof. The little 3" wide-range speaker for $19.95 is a sleeper.

Not sure on your size, but mine are 5" premium marine speakers. They say LCI on the back, but checking further, they are made by Furrion. It says 135 watt maximum on back, also made in China, so have to be good.:)

Funny thing is, like other poster, we have only used them in the driveway at home. The wife and I both were amazed at how good they sound. They are fitted into the lower metal J-panel.

The stereo is Touch Audio...IDK, but hey it sounds great, six speaker surround sound inside, two out.

Most 5.25 inch marine speakers will replace them. You may be able to get 6.5 if you don't mind making a bigger cutout. Nothing is going to sound very good without an enclosed back. My last FW. I had 6X9 speakers with enclosures behind them. They sounded much better than the 5.25 ones on our Wildwood.

Take a look at Best buy and West Marine stores, both should have outdoor and marine options. Also crutchfield.com

One thing you'll need to triple check is the size and depth of the magnet for the factory vs replacement speakers.

When I upgraded mine, there was not enough room for the new magnets. Internal speakers though, so I bodged it to work.

I think Polk makes a good speaker, I have a pair of outdoor 6x9 at the house.

X2 on the BLUETOOTH speakers. WALMART and AMAZON carries them...

They definitely sound great and you can match them up with any headphone jack you want to transmit through them...

I have several different scanner type radios in my Radio setup and kinda neat to have all of this going to an outside speaker setup around the firepit...

WalMart sells weatherproof speakers, boating supply, Amazon. Whatever you do you should fix them or seal the holes. Rotten speakers can cause a water leak in your walls. Many people hate outside speakers. I use mine at home while washing or doing maintenance on our rig.

We stopped using the outdoor speakers and bought a rechargeable Bluetooth speaker that we play both radio station and music from our smartphones. Sound is awesome. They are available for anywhere between $40 and $100.

I look forward to the forum opinions. My outdoor speakers sound like a 1950's transistor radio.
