Black tank flush and detached power cord

Well I pulled the trigger today and bought a 2015 Coachmen 233rbs. My first mods would be a built in tank flush and detachable power cord. Didn't even realize they still had the stuff in the hole power cords still. Any recommendations for the tank flush? Is Tornado about the only one? I thought about asking Forest river if I could buy a factory kit so it goes with the trailer better. Thanks Michael
  • After you convert to a detachable power cord, you can then worry about another connection, throw the entire cord on the ground and later use it to take up space in your storage area.
  • Had a Tornado, it cracked. Replaced with Tornado, stopped spinning/working and was leaking at the fitting.

Replaced with No Fuss Flush that has been perfect. Drilled my own holes for custom spray pattern to focus on sensors and rear of tank. The flimsy plastic supply tube on the Tornado was also troublesome so I got my own fittings and used pex for the No Fuss Flush install. Quicky looks similar and should also work fine.

Yes the backflow is built in. Much better system with one less fitting to break or leak.

That kit doesn't come with a back flow preventer?

Yes It does, just read the AD :S
" Helps thoroughly flush the RV holding tank
    Permanently installed built-in backflow preventer
Hook the garden hose to the connection (outside RV) and flush for 2 minutes or until water from discharge hose runs clear
    8' hose
No need to bring a hose in through the window"
  • I installed a Quickie Flush in my Class C and it was one of the best Mods I have done, and pretty simple.

I picked the Quickie Flush over the Tornado because of the high failure rate of the swivel part. A few of my friends had them fail and it leaves it useless in the tank.

The install is pretty straight forward, there is a hokey You Tube video on it.
The only thing that I changed is where the hose connects up with the flusher I put a 90 Degree Elbow in it to reduce the strain on the hose and make it closer to the tank.

It looks like this when finished, with a quick disconnect on the end.

Don't get discouraged if it leaks at the hose connections at first they are sometimes hard to get tight. Tightened mine up and have had no leaks anywhere.
Another suggestion is to make a test hole in a piece of wood or something and test fit the device to the hole. I found that the hole size suggested was much larger than needed.
Good Luck and if you do it let us know how it works out.
