...was told by the dealer that the tow vehicle was in an accident and there is a slight .25 inch shift....At the very least, if I was a prospective buyer, I'd like to know how that was determined and measured. I'd also be interested if there was any other damage that has not been cataloged or uncovered.
My initial take is that a dealer found a location where some shift in the body's alignment appears to be .25". That would not be a determination of whether the whole body has shifted or that there is a separation of the walls, floor, or roof. Strange things happen in vehicle accidents and my investigatory skills would be honed, considering the type of construction dealt with.
