Yeah, definitely not new news. Hundreds of threads about the overpriced garbage RV covers on the market. Nobody makes a good one that will last. Then you have to worry about condensation, wind whipping causing wear-through, UV degradation (which is what it looks like you had), and all sorts of other things.
