Campground Etiquette and Protocol

I just purchased a TC - a 1990 Sun-lite Hideaway 850wt. I have a few questions about the information that previous owner gave me. The first is that the TC doesn't have a gray tank - just a piece of PVC that hooks to the kitchen drain coming out of the side and down to the ground. My first question is - is this OK to just let drain on the ground or should I put a bucket under it to catch it so I can dispose of it correctly? Also - the fresh water tank just has a drain that comes out the bottom of the camper so I don't see any problem with letting that one go when I get home on my driveway. But, with no gray tank, there is no way to use it to flush the black tank so I am going to get one of those wands to flush the black tank. Any other thoughts or words of wisdom? Thanks

At least use a bucket to transfer grey to bushes or vault or whatever is appropriate for that campground (rules definitely vary by location so check).

The guys on the popup/folding trailer section of the forum know ALL about this since all but the largest of popup trailers also lack grey tanks.

You don't want to dump gray water on the ground at a campground. It smells and dogs will roll in it. There are several styles of storage tanks with wheels you could use to hold the gray water, then take it to dispose in a better location.

If you have room, I'd consider adding a grey tank. I wouldn't just dump the grey on the ground. You can buy a storage tank with wheels. Check out camping world for examples.

I think most of us dump our fresh water on the ground when we are home, or at our storage location. Sometimes, I dump the freshwater into buckets to water plants.
