I would not waste the money, for the difference the 150 will make, unless you're just looking for an excuse to buy a pickup. Sure the 250 would make a big difference, but not needed for TT mentioned.

A 24' 6000lb TT is child's play for a new Expedition. EL or not.
Don't let engine convince you otherwise. Folks here will have your tow rig up to a 1 ton diesel by page 3 of this thread.
Many take the "payload" numbers as absolutes that are like breaking the law and you'll go to jail or something.
Think about it. You have a huge, new, SUV with as much power as you can get in a full size SUV pretty much. Body on frame, etc. Basically the best F150 offered, with a 3rd row seat.

If you order an F150, you can get the HD payload package, bringing it anywhere from 2,400 lbs to 3,000 pounds. A very few dealers, usually with large fleet departments, may stock them but they are rare.

3/4-tons are great, but probably not necessary for you, considering the low amount of towing.

x2 what Marty said. Adjust your WD hitch to make sure you're over your axle ratings, which have a little bit of additional capacity (to allow for uneven loading) beyond the GVWR.

Yes, you are at or over your factory cargo capacity.

On the other hand, how are you vs say your GRAWR? You may have some fudge as long as you do not overload an axel. I've done this many times thru the years with granted heavier duty vehicles, but run down the road with out white knuckles at 9500-9900 lbs gvw with a rig rated to 9200 from factory. I was under my front axel by 200-300 lbs, and 500 lbs under the rear capacity! I was also under my paid for gvwr of 10K lbs. At the end of the day, I would have had NO issues from the real weight cops! Now the ones here on RV.net....... that is another issue story!

Reality, you still should invest in a larger gvwr capacity truck at some point in time!

If agree IF you have a 4X4 and 3.73 axle which I don't see mentioned in your previous comments. So you should be in good shape.

Yes, you're close to maxing out the payload on your tow vehicle, and it's a common issue. I am over payload (GVWR) on my truck, even with a small RV (only a 17' hybrid) after I load my toys in the truck. I add a kayak rack (ladder rack), generator, spare tire for truck and trailer, bikes, bbq, LPG tank, and a few other things.

What you're talking about is the Expy's Payload Capacity. For that, anything in the vehicle, other than a full fuel tank, counts against that 1489 number. That also means the driver.
