Carlisle Radial Trail HD tires?

I don,t no anybody that likes them, there known for being a very poorly made tire. but they make good lawn mower tires.

Very popular tire which also means there will be reports of problems. Simple statistics. Couple of sets that I had were fine.

I don't think there are any trailer tires made in the USA except the Goodyear Endurance.

Yes. I had these on my last TT and were very pleased with them. I’ve not heard any bad reviews on these tires.

Yes these are the new tires from Carlisle. The Carlisles from the last 10 years have been good tires. I had 2 sets of the RH tires and then the last set were the HD’s. Never had an issue with these brand Carlisles. And the HD’s have the higher speed rating for an extra margin of safety.

I purchased a new Starcraft hybrid around 2005 and it came with really crummy Carlisle tires. On top of being of poor quality they were LRC tires which just barely covered the weight required. One blew and Carlisle reimbursed me the cost for all 5 tires. Fast forward to a couple of years ago and I chose the NEW Carslile HD tires. Mine are LRE tires and have been great. Like Dodge Guy wrote, these are entirely new. Mine have plenty of load carrying capacity at 70psi and are speed rated to 80mph. Very good tire these HDs are.

And, don't think that JUST because a tire is made overseas it is junk. It has much more to do with the quality of the company selling the tires than where they are made. Goodyear manufactured their Marathons in the USA and then moved production to China for a time. They moved back mainly due to the political fallout and being inked with the China Bomb name. Maxxi does not produce their tires in the US and yet they are very highly rated. If you buy a cheap off brand tire then your chances of getting a cheap tire goes up. If you buy from a reputable dealer and manufacturer you chances of getting a good tire also goes up. I have dealt a lot with Discount tires and they have always stood behind their tires. I also got my Carlisles from them.

Had them on my previous 5th wheel. 225/75/15E. Did just fine for 2.5 years or so. Maybe 10,000 miles. Would buy them again but with the new GY Endurance out and having them on my current TT and being happy with them, then I'll be staying with the GY's.

I won't buy another Carlisle tire. I have heard that the newer tires are well liked and better quality that years ago. However, in the mid 90's I had a set of 4. After 1000 miles and two complete tread separations and damage to trailer (properly inflated) I attempted to get Carlisle to replace them and/or help with trailer repairs. They flat out said NO. Never again for me.

I've switched to LT's such as Michelin XPS Ribs and never looked back.

Yeah the old Carlisle Radial Trail were very problematic and prone to premature failure.

However the OP ask about the new Carlisle HD which came out just before Goodyear came out with their new Endurance tire.
Both are new and both seem to have shed their old image.
No complaints so far on either one on NHTSA tire complaints website.

Moving to a all steel ply carcass commercial grade XPS Rib LT E tire IMO was the best upgrade in tire for a trailer. All steel ply carcass tires are in a class all their own.

I'm on my second set of the Carisle HD with no complaints. I do really like the higher speed rating.
