Changing dinette to U shape

Our Arctic Fox 1140 came with a dinette with two bench seats and I would prefer a u shape dinette. Has anyone converted a standard dinette to a u shape and if so, can you pass along pointers?

The only advice I would give is: Just do it! We thought about it for a long while and one day while I was replacing door hinges I had all the tools out and just said: "What the hay...." You'll need some putty or some such to fill the holes from the screws but otherwise easy......

Hey, We just did this in our AF 865. Took out the table which attaches to wall with some screws (8 I think). Whole table assembly come off real easy and is still functional in case you want to put it back. Then added the cross bench. waiting on pedestal mounts and leg. I will post pics when it is complete. Seems like going from a 4 seat/large table dinette to 3 seat/small table would be a disadvantage? What is the u-shaped advantage?

I did the conversion a few years back. The difference is I had the old style table wall mount bracket and not the new push down bracket, so my method might not work for yours. I have a thread on my conversion but not sure how easy it is to find it since I never myself had much luck searching past threads. I can post post a few pics if you cant find the thread. My conversion offers 4 separate uses for the dinette. I also have an AF 1140.
