I have recently come across a few TC's that have had the settee removed and a couch or recliners added. This solves one of the big problems for me in choosing a TC. If I could have a comfortable place to relax on rainy days, it would be much more inclined to buy a TC. Anyone else made this change? Pictures would be appreciated.

I just drop the dinette into bed mode, toss on some big pillows and sprawl out. No loss of the table for eating or doing computer work and more room than I need to sprawl. Best of all no extra weight added to the rig

Our TC came with a couch option - it's a real couch, not pillows leaned against the wall. The table is a long rectangle that sits parallel with the couch, and can be turned 90 degrees to overhand the center of the couch making a little dinette. We use the table both ways: usually eating, we just sit side-by-side. If we need to face each other (playing cards or something), we turn the table 90 degrees.The couch folds flat into a bed, which we usually configure to watch movies with the TV set up on the kitchen counter. When we have the dogs with us, our 120lb lab sleep on the couch in 'bed mode'. The couch is surprisingly comfortable.I'm a TC couch evangelist: my wife refused to buy a TC with a dinette. She has childhood memories of uncomfortable, straight-backed dinettes, sitting bolt-upright looking at the rain outside for hours.I'm convinced the ONLY reason dinettes are still used is because it's the traditional arrangement that people expect - and people don't like change. There is (IMO) absolutely NOTHING you can do with a dinette that you can't do better/ more comfortably with a couch (unless you seat 4 - 6 people at your dinette - it's just the two of us).It boggles my mind a bit that there are people who want a couch AND a dinette in a TC, but to each his own.

My camper also came factory with a "jack-knife" sofa instead of a dinette arrangement. I much prefer this as it does what you want: gives you a real place to sit. The back of the couch folds out and down to make a bed when necessary. Some of the largest double and triple slide TCs some with a couch across the back in addition to the dinette. I think one,(Host Everest maybe) has 2 chairs.

My first TC a Popup Pine Mountain by Jayco had a JackKnife sofa, I loved it, more comfortable than a dinette! Takes up less space as well, and make a small bed.

We do the same in our off-road POPUP setup. Setup the large wrap around seating into a lounge and throw in some cushions.. Great hang-out area for watching HDTV...We usually eat outside under the awning or picnic table...our lounge setupSince there is only the two of us the tent bed area you see here behind the lounge is our daytime catch all area...gotta do with what you have...Roy Ken

Yes...Adventurer/Eagle Cap now offer "theater seating" as an option in many models...these are sidebyside recliners...very comfy. We test drove them when we were at the dealer picking up our EC.
I could see having these in the future!

Take a look at Adventurer's new 116DS. Holy cow! I think it may be in our future.

This is what I do also and it makes a great place to streach out and read my Kindle or watch TV..I also made a new cushion support for the center section and it saves room when storing. Takes about a min. to convert back to the table mode..:B My little dog also loves the room to roam when in the TC

We do this as well. My wife bought on of those breakfast-in-bed tray/table things that we use for a quick meal instead of setting the dinette back up.

After we bought our rig I considered a couch or command seating like Snow River. I changed my mind because I tye flies at my table so I wanted something that would give me more back support. I installed swivel secretary type chair. I would have liked to have kept the arm rests but there was not enough room.
