I have the same set up for counter and sofa in my Northwood. After putting a flat panel LCD HDTV on an articulating mount on the interior bedroom wall along with a permanent DVD shelf near the ceiling next to the tv, I took the existing folding tv shelf down (kept hitting my back on it when going around the bed). I will reuse it. I am going to mount it on the end of the cabinet too, but I have to add a couple of verticle 1 x 2's or 1 x 3's inside the cabinet between the horizontal framing before I can mount the shelf to the cabinet side paneling.
