I did a mod to our trailer today. The water pump was too loud for my taste, so I decided to quiet it some. Using ideas I found around this forum, I went by Home Depot and picked up a 2" thick sheet of styrofoam, a sheet of luan (thin plywood) and some pipe insulation. I cut a 6"x9" piece of styrofoam and sandwiched it between two pieces of the luan securing it with wood glue. After it dried, I removed the water pump from the floor where it was mounted, and drove screws through the mount holes for the pump and through the "silencer" and in to the floor. Then I took a piece of the pipe insulation and wrapped it around any exposed hose.
I had my DW and DD listen before and after and now the faucet running is louder than the noise from the pump. Definately worth the few minutes of work that it took.
