My daughter was getting a little warm in her bunk during our last camping trip, so I decided to put her a fan in to keep the air flowing.

I had been wanting to add a 12-volt fan to the main living area anyway, so I decided to tackle both jobs today. A trip to Wal-Mart for two fans($8.48 each) and we're halfway there.

She picked the spot, and I got to work -

I picked up the power from her overhead light. All I have left is to install a short piece of wire cover and I'm done -

I added one in the main area -

I dropped by Lowe's and found this cool soap dispenser. I also just installed these Pop-a-Toothbrush holders -

I added a sopa dispenser to the kitchen area as well. I also installed a Pop-a-Napkin under the radio -

Here's an easy mod. I found this over the door towel rack at Walmart and it works great -

Can't use aluminum foil, need it for a helmet to stop the voices.

LOL! Hey, maybe you won't hear the voices at night if you use it on the vent cover.

Then don't tint your windows. LOL. This will really help getting our kid to bed when its still light out, getting her to take naps in the afternoon, and keep everyone in bed a bit longer in the morning. I also have 2 Maxxair vent covers due her tomorrow. They had a deal on 2 white ones on ebay so thats what I bought. One vent is in the bathroom so I will leave that one white. Second one is over the queen bed and I HATE it! Love the fresh air it allows in but the light makes me feel like I'm trying to sleep with a light on. I like the look of the white covers from the outside so my plan is to spray paint the inside of the vent cover black using spray paint for plastic. Will allow all the fresh air, look white from the outside, and block the light out over our bed. Will post pics when I get them painted and installed.

If you find that the paint doesn't hold up or not opaque enough, you could just use good ol' aluminum foil to line the inside. Guaranteed light proof!

They make different darknesses. Your best bet is to go by a tint shop and get them to explain the tints to you. The darker tint less in less light but also lets in less UV which causes damage over the long haul.

Iowassfan,

Hmm, does "5% tint" mean that it lets only 5% of the light in, or that it only blocks 5% of the light? If it only lets in %5, then it blocks 95%.

In the picture it looks like it is blocking 95% of the light rather than 5%.

Not too familiar with tint, eh? That work looks like 5% to me. Use the same on my cars.

LEP100.

I like your RV window tinting jop. You do good work. Thanks for sharing...

If wondering, I tinted my son's bedroom window last year. My TT's many other windows are fine. Tinting his window with 5% allows him to sleep in longer - with makes mom very happy as well.

Just an FYI - you can now get "vinyl tint" at places like Auto-Zone. It goes on super easy, stays on , but can easily be removed. No glue is involved, so no scraping when removing it. I even used it to tint my soft top Jeep windows. My TT came factory with tinted windows as that was part of my criteria on getting a new one... my old TT I tinted myself since I hated the clear windows.

Hi all,
I just finish my windows last week too and it is a great advantage to have more privacy during the day and a long sleep morning with the kids.
Here are some of my pictures before and after.

I did start with the 20% Smoke film from lowe's and after a few windows a switch to the 5% black privacy film and it looks better.
The 5% also keeps 59% of the heat out helping hte ac to work better and 98% of the UV out of your furniture and carpet in the camper preventing some of the fade by the sun.

See ya

You can get 2.5% at walmart. The 5% made it a lot nicer in there this morning. Should really help keep it cool in there as well. The tint I used is almost mirrored effect when you stand a few feet back and look at it with no lights on in the trailer.

5% is the darkest I've seen. The tint shops call it "Limo" Any darker and it wouldn't let any light in at all.

Only let's in 5%. There is only one tint darker. You have to press your face to the window to barely see in.

Nice! Thanks for posting this I was thinking of doing the same thing after our last camping trip and everyone that walked by seemed to stop and look in the trailer.
