different kind of tire thread

Heres one for the gurus out there. My 21 TT has a set of Gremax tires under a year old. I've read the China bomb threads etc.

On the side of the tire it list's max load @ 1250lbs at 50 psi.

In the warning paragraph on the same tire it says never exceed 40 psi.

I've always run them at the loaded pressure recommendation.
Any suggestions?

What the H**?

Thanks for the replies. That is kind of what I was guessing too.
I aired them up to 50 and took off. We just did a four day weekend and put about 700 miles on them.

I believe that it says "Never exceed 40 psi when mounting" or similar. In other words, don't use more than 40 psi to seat the bead, that is different than the 50 psi that you can run them at.

X3. I see the same warning on pretty much any tire.
