I'm looking for response from folks that have 22" TT or shorter units!. My 40' DP didn't cool very well in 100 degree days.. So I changed them (2ea) to 15000 units and it made all the difference in the world.

Camped at Patagonia Lake State Park in southern Arizona a few weeks ago. Arrived at about 2:30 pm, temp was around 107. It took about 30 mins to drop the trailer temp from 107 to about 85 or so and about an hour and half to get it to 75. Trailer was sitting in full sun at that time of day. Once it cooled off it was easy to keep it cool for the 3 days we were camped. We have a 21 ft trailer with 13.5 AC.

I swear the old 13.5K AC's cooled better than the new ones.

Yup the old ones did work better .

We frequently stay in South Carolina in the hotter months. We usually start the AC just a bit before dusk. Inside it would be in the high 80โ€™s. By the time we go to bed, around 10pm or so, itโ€™s plenty cool enough to sleep, usually in the low 70โ€™s.
Weโ€™ve never run it all day. Since we stay mostly in State and National parks, we try to keep our impact on them to a minimum.
Our camper is 21โ€™ and has the basic Dometic 13.5 AC.

As just about everywhere, this summer we here in S Ontario have been seeing repeated heat waves with daytime temps up to 100F, the temp mentioned by the OP. As I said, our 13.5K Dometic Brisk II has no problem turning our 19' trailer into a meat locker, even in these temps. My sincere apologies for answering the OP's question.
Actually, you did and you didn't answer the OP's question. The OP may not have asked for location, but it's certainly important. Based on the OP's profile, it appears he/she may be located in Arizona. That's a far cry from Ontario. The only reason I replied to your post was to clarify your location. Location (i.e., max/min temps and humidity throughout the day and night) has a significant effect on an RV a/c unit's ability to recover and cool. The daily min/max temp/humidity delta in the desert SW is significantly different from the rest of the US and Canada.

Based on your past M.O., I suspect you'll be replying with smoking mirrors and animated emojis claiming location is irrelevant (that max ambient temperature alone determines an a/c's performance). Well, SoundGuy, I've got a full bag of popcorn . . . let 'er rip.

Depends on the conditions, I'd say. It will be 120f, in Needles, CA, tomorrow. Phoenix will be 10f cooler. If you park in the Sun, a 13.5 will be trying it's heart out.

Just turned on our new 13.5 AtWood Aircommand for the first time today. I could feel a cold air breeze all the way in the front of the trailer, something the Dometic it replaced could not do.

Looking forward to trying it out in the desert!

I have a 25 ft 2010 Dutchmen, the AC keeps it in the 70's in the hottest weather.

Now it's true I park with as much shade as available but the 13.5 AC works for us.
Twenty six foot 2010 Dutchmen Lite pulled with a 2011 EcoBoost F-150 4x4.

Just right for Grandpa, Grandma and the dog.

I'd like to use mine as a boat anchor. Noisy, loud, vibrates the TT. I've used it twice in eight years.
