x2. - doxiluvrExplorer IIGoogle "rectangular pizza stone" and all kinds of them come up in different sizes. The thickness will depend on how you plan to use it.
- Aluminum_SidingExplorerThanks for all the great replies. I actually picked up some Saltillo tiles from Home Depot last night. No glaze and no led just clay. They were a buck each. I'm going to give this a shot as I've seen many on the net and YouTube use these for pizza. I too am an out door live fire style cooker. Dutch ovens etc. But from time to time, in a pinch I'll do the garlic bread in the oven and the DW likes to bake cookies in the evening after dinner.
Again thanks for all the great support! - Passin_ThruExplorerPampered Chef, make cookie sheets too.

- Fast0neExplorerGood to know I will try the stone.
I was just shocked at how well it actually cooked without the stone. After all the bad story's from people trying to cook in a rv oven. - WyoTravelerExplorer

Actually I just did a pizza in our oven for the first time and was very surprised to see how well it worked. Even the temp showing on the dial was close to what the temp gauge I put into the oven.
Maybe just try first and move the rack to the top.
And thanks for the link I still would like to try the stone in our oven.
We bake flat bread. pizza stone is great for that. - GaryWTExplorerIf I put a 3/4 inch stone in I don't think I would be able to fit anything in. Then again I use a Dutch oven instead of the oven.
