recalls means the auto industry is paying attention to their product after it leaves their lot. That is a great thing and no one should complain about that!!
A "great thing"? How about building them correctly in the first place?
Wasn't that long ago when manufacturers would decide to not do recalls knowing customers will die as a result.
They didn't announce recalls until they were threatened with Federal Government involvement and many dealer and customer lawsuits. After all, what's a few dozen lives to several billion dollars of profits to the manufacturer?
I may come across as cynical, and I am, perhaps due to years of life experiences with business, manufacturing, technology and Government, NONE of whom can I trust to be Competent and Honest at this stage in my life.
I agree with you.... I am a retired auto mechanic... 43 years... the stuff they call READY for production... WOW.
some of you should have worked at a dealership in the 70's and 80's. talk about JUNK... bad design, bad manufacturing, bad assembly. MY OPINION.
I remember in the late 80's I would mow a car lot and would have to start up and move a bunch of trucks (Chevy and Dodges) in order to mow that lot. Every Dodge truck that I would cold start the lifters would tick for a while. There was very poor quality back then but never did I hear of any defective welds on the frames which is very bad IMO. RAM stepped over the line with not having sufficient Quality Control which cost's a lot of $$$ ,but not having proper Quality Control will cost you even more $$$$$$ and lost customers.
