Firestone Destination LE 2 for TT

I've got a couple of ST tires that are nearing 5 years. I would like to go to LT tires. I have 2 choices that fit the stock wheels and carry enough weight. First is the Firestone Destination LE 2 in 235/75/15, with a maximum rating of 2,183 pounds per tire at 50psi. This tire is relatively inexpensive at $101.

Second choice is the Goodyear Cargo G26 in 225/70/15, with a maximum rating of 2,470 pounds at 65psi. This tire is much more expensive at $156.

I'm leaning towards the Firestones. My trailer GVW is 9,000, and I know the tongue weight will be over 1,000 pounds, so I have enough capacity.

Is there any reason to spend the extra on the Goodyears?

I've run 3 sets of Firestone Destinations on my tow vehicles, probably over 120,000 total miles, and have been happy with them. For the trailer, I'd say go for it... except for one thing. The 1000 lb hitch weight shows that the front trailer axle will be carrying more weight than the rear axle. So the weight will not be distributed evenly, and you need to calculate a bit more to ensure that the front TT tires won't be overloaded.

I will say that I've run mismatched tires on my trailers on many occasions and noticed no ill effects. You could probably run Goodyears on the front axle and Firestones on the rear if you wanted.

BTW, I looked at Tire Rack in the same size as the Firestones and found 2 tires with 2271 lb capacity... Kumho Road Venture AT KL78, a LT XL tire, and another XL tire called Fuzion SUV... the latter is only $73 each.
