floating flooring questions

I'm considering replacing my vinyl flooring with something like the Allure floating floor. My question is, if you've done it before, did you removed the table tube supports screwed to the floor, then floor over where they were installed then reinstall them, or did you do the flooring around the supports?
Thanks
  • We installed the Allure snap lock style flooring a few years back. It absolutely needs to float and not be pinched anywhere ..., yes like underneath those table leg supports, also underneath the toilet, and underneath the entryway trim that you'll probably install. If not fully floating, the product will shrink and actually unsnap itself in select areas when the weather gets colder, leaving gaps between the planks. When the weather gets warmer, the gaps close-up, but not fully and it won't snap itself back together. This has been our experience with the product, yours may vary. The product wasn't designed to be installed in areas that see a wide temperature swing.
  • As I recalled I removed the tub chairs that were bolted to the floor before I installed Allure - this allowed for easier install and looks better - never had any binding issues.
