Diesel Stop
I don't know how this applies, if it does, to GMC and RAM
All engines are made from iron, steel and aluminum, a good lubricant is needed. Anti-wear additives have been reduced in many oils so it would be best to learn which are approved by those that test them. - 2001400exExplorerI feel like I've never see oil, that's changed on a regular basis, cause a failure in a modern engine.
- Second_ChanceExplorer IILLOONNGG discussion over on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts forum on this topic, too. General consensus over there (guys that are much more into and knowledgeable about the trucks than I am) is that it's a timing thing. A number of oils are still in the certification pipeline and are likely to be certified in the end - as Bill said.
Rob - TrackrigExplorer IIGo back to earlier this month on RV.net for a long discussion on the oil. There's some good information towards the end. Maybe Ford doesn't like it in the new engines, but I'm still running it in my 6.0 diesel. I'll bet that in the end Ford certifies it for the new engines also.
