found a seasonal site!

we decided to try a seasonal site next year - it was such a great spot that we could not say no. Loon Lake Campground in Croydon, NH...check out their web page and facebook page.

Our little KZ 16RBT will be the smallest trailer there, I think. It's not really meant as a destination camper, but we'll use it that way for a year and see if we like it.

We still plan to pack it up and haul it to the white mountains on July 4th next year. We also have one more real camping trip planned for October.

The site is three season - closed from October to April, so I don't think we'll need to worry about being too cold in the hybrid camper.

Anyone else do a seasonal site? Pros and Cons?

sounds like ours is more like SpaDoctors's - not a timeshare. AND, the owners are very strict about rules, it seems.

We pay for the season...my site is 3300.00 plus electric. We are in a KOA rated in the top !0% of all campgrounds in the country. Bands almost every weekend....onsite fireworks on the 4th...murder mystery night....etc. We also can leave the camper onsite for the winter if we want but I bring mine home. We had a membership years ago but broke the contract because of the corp violating the rules constantly...like renting to transients....allowing unoccupied rigs to stay on site...etc. Would NEVER buy a time share again

We gave it sixteen years. Wouldn't do it again on a bet. Seasonals where you rent the lot rather than own it may be different but I plan on steering clear.
What we had was not one of those co-op places we were actually deeded and paid taxes on the lot.

We seasonal at the same campground as scootsk ( Hi Don...Walt from sire 87 here)....you will love it if you give it a chance. We swore we would never do it but in 07 wife could not take a summer vacation because of work....have done it ever since and we do take a couple side trips each year. Myrtle Beach this coming March

We had a seasonal site but sold it, we actually owned the ground, and enjoyed it until the elected board members thought they owned the campground and started imposing rules that were not really rules and the ones that did exist they didn't abide by themselves.They started losing membership about three years before we finally jumped ship ourselves.

We are also going on a seasonal site starting next year with our hybrid. We are planning on closing up the bunk ends overtime we leave... Maybe in a few years we will upgrade to a full hard side

Yes, I figure we'll have to get some covers for when we are there, and close them up tight when we're not.

Camper tents will get destroyed if left open all season. Pollen in the start, bird ****, you name, it. Pesky gypsy month poo. Are you sure you want to do it? Especially with you little unit. I have seen pups left open year round with major tarp setups overhead on seasonal sites. I enjoy my 21ft bunkhouse for its ability to fit anywhere and everywhere! Easy to tow and fit on any site available is why I own it.

Thanks - the sites are nice, and tough close together, they are scattered in the woods along the lake. My wife is a teacher, so this will give her the ability to use the camper all summer even if I am working. We checked and there is good cell service there, so I can actually work from there occasionally, though we won't be paying for Dish satellite cable and internet. The site was $2500 for the year, which is typical up here. We found sites that cost much more that were not in as nice a place. This place is "hoity toity" to a degree - it's super well maintained and there are no jerks to spoil it for everyone else as Deb runs a tight ship.

We had a seasonal site for several years, and really enjoyed it! Met a lot of great people, and made some wonderful memories. Enjoy!

Seasonal camping is nice. You get a lot more use out of your unit because you don't have to go through the the hassle. I relucantly went seasonal five years ago and I'm happy I did. Still go on long trips three or four times a year. Good luck with your new experience.

Looks like an expensive campground as they dont show thier seasonal rates..

Looks hoity toity but thats just my opinion. I could find not one pic of the campsites and what they look like on thier site.
