General Rv

Looking to buy (factory order)a Grand Design Reflection 315 and my best price is from General Rv in Utah and I am in Colo. so road trip is in order because it is $2500 cheaper than local. Anyone with experience with them, I have been on the Grand Design owners forum. Thanks
  • I have dealt with General many times both for sales and service both in Ohio and Michigan and we have been pleased. No dealer is perfect but I feel like General has done us well.
  • As mentioned by kerrlakeRoo. Always talk price out the door so all the add ins are included.

That is the first thing I make clear to the sales person. Any other costs is out of their pocket. Period.

I is not hard, just a bit more work for them at the start.
  • Remember the "Out the door price" is the one that matters. many unscrupulous dealers will offer fantastic prices and then hide added fees which can add thousands of dollars to the price. Common ones include
Shipping or transportation; could be as much as $2,000
Dealer prep: could be as high as $1,500
PDI fee; Could be as high as $500
and Documentation fees: Have seen as high as $399

Many small Mom and pop dealers dont play those BS games and will quote you a final price, most chain operations will try not to discuss them until you are presented the final contract, which on an agreed to $18,000 Travel Trailer may add up to $22,399.

Verify the total price out the door before you travel, and give your local small dealer a chance to compete on a level playing field.

I have heard good things about them.. BUT I have no personal dealings with them..

I am curious, do you have a local dealer that quoted? Did you get them the chance to meet the price?

I was prepared to drive 10 hrs for my current fifth wheel, at the last minute, my local dealer stepped up and matched the price just to get the sale.. I always prefer to buy local if at all possible...

Either way, Good Luck with your purchase !

I gave them a chance they said they were all in. So I just got done putting my order in. I tried local this time didn't work out

That is a shame for both of you.... Their loss !

Make sure you can buy distant and then get local RV repair/warranty support from your local dealer(s). I have one dealer in my area that wont give you an appointment unless you bought your RV there (Leach RV Co Bluffs, IA).

They gave me the spiel about we give our customers priority, I heard that from the last dealer I bought on from its a load of ****. I have a message into Grand Design for an alternative shop if they refuse to work on it if I need it.
