They say no worries using it with WD as long as you can find a place to mount it properly on the A-frame. Just passing this on for info...never used the device so cannot comment on it....

Nah! I'd not use it. It's just another electronic gadget that is prone to breakdown. A non electronic, mechanical device won't break down down with electronic's failure when you need it the most!Beside, I use WD with built in sway control already.

The first line of their online brochure says:"Eliminates sway when weight distribution is not needed"Since most TTs need weight distribution for reasons other than sway, (to return the front axle weight) this device would not be appropriate in most cases. That's according to the manufacturer of the device.

I'm not sure if I agree with that it's the first of its kind. There was the Tuscon Sway Control from years back that make that same claim. It was a pretty effective unit. I don't think I would rely solely on it even if I didn't require a wdh. Electronics fail and experience anomalies all of the time. That would be terrible in the middle of a sway event.

They say that is there because many trailers with WD will struggle to find a good mounting place on the A-Frame. etrailer also says works with WD in their review:etrailer review of Hayes Sway Master (Video)

It applies the trailer brakes when sway is detected which is the same thing the manual slide on the controller is used for.If it malfunctions even a tiny amount the trailer brakes will be off and on constantly increasing fuel consumption and wearing out the trailer brakes.No thanks, it is a solution looking for a problem.

Some of the comments by the "experts" just crack me up! Disc brakes are better for sway control than electronics? Manual control is all you need? Just set trailer up properly and you'll "never" have sway!

I guess we should disconnect ABS, fuel injection, dual diagonal braking, traction control and all other electronic devices as they are simply not needed.

This is a great additional safety feature that for $212 could save your life.....but more importantly, could save MY life if the trailer fish tails in front of me!

Concur on shocks and discuss brakes being great. But at $200 cost to Trailer manufacturers, seems to make lots of sense to install in a new build trailer.. Seems to me this is lots of safety for the $s..

To my mind if you want your trailer to handle better your money is much better spent putting on Shocks and disc brakes. That will do more than any "Sway Control" you could buy.

went ahead and ordered the Tuson Sway Control for $344...I will keep all appraised of how the install and checkout tow goes...

IMHO, the beauty of these systems is not in a classic excessive sway situation (although they do great there) but an evasive maneuver. During an evasive maneuver, the system would keep the trailer tracking behind you. Allowing you the most control to avoid whatever you are evading...

I applaud Jayco for putting them on all trailers. Makes the road safer for all of us.

I also am very positive. For a cost of $200 (and I am sure much, much less for Trailer manufacturers), This is a very inexpensive addition for the good it does....

As with any new device or technology some will not pan out and there will always be a chorus of those who swear it can't work but given a little time it will likely become the gold standard for sway control. I will watch with some interest to see how this one does.
