Hi all, my previous post was whether or not to buy a new WDH and after this past weekend my decision is set. I'm gonna buy a new one. I have a big trip coming up in August and I don't want the issues I've been having. So, I'm completely open to suggestions here. Let's start with facts.

I have a 2015 2500 HD 6.0L and a 2018 JayFlight SLX 284BHSW(6800lbs dry).

My truck does well with this camper with the old WDH when it was working right and didn't sway too badly when Johnny Semitruck went flying by me. That being said, this will probably be the last WDH I buy(previous was on its 3rd owner, round bar reece). So budget is flexible but I don't want to break the bank if possible. Let's hear your thoughts. Happy 4th all!

I'm not trying to sell you on it, just sharing my experiences. I have had the same Equal-I-zer hitch for the last 14 years towing a 24' trailer with a couple different half ton trucks. It has been a rock solid performer in all scenarios I've managed to get into, including emergency maneuvers involving wild life running in front of me, vehicles stopped around blind corners while descending mountain passes, and heavy cross winds while crossing long bridges.

It gets noisy during low speed maneuvering at the camp ground despite greasing the hitch head and nylon pads on the L brackets.

It is easy to hitch and unhitch, especially with an electric tongue jack (that probably applies to most hitches). A feature I take advantage of all the time is the fact that after unhitching I can just push the square bars up close to the rear bumper on the truck and leave the entire hitch in place with no worries. I routinely drive around with it that way. No need to find a place to stash those bars.

Next time around I may consider something different, but I've had nothing but positive experiences with the one I have.

I have an Andersen that is easy, but only 80% effective IMO.

Last time I was shopping/considering a replacement the Blue Ox Sway Pro was at the top of my list.

The Rolls Royce would be a Hensley or ProPride, then the Cadillac would be an Equilizer or Reese Dual Cam, and the Ford or Chevrolet would be a name brand friction bar. The Yugo is a Huskey or Haul Master.

Don’t buy a Husky TX , I have one . I’m betting the equalizer will be the overall favorite here.

Best of luck
