Try gift-wrapping it and leaving it on the seat of your unlocked car while it's parked downtown for awhile. Ought to disappear lickety-split!:B
Legend has it that this worked for folks during a New York garbage strike...
Excellent. I changed the two starting batteries on my old Land Rover some years ago, and left the old ones next to the Land Rover in the communal parking area around the corner from my house. A week later some kind person had disposed of the junk batteries for me. Of course if you are someone who steals stuff then when you find it is junk you aren't going to take it down to the recycling centre - you'll just dump it by the side of the road
๐I took my RM2410 to the recycler in exactly the same condition. Actually I kept that bit of metal bracketry - it went into my store of useful metal - it got cut up and welded onto things a couple of times.
When I took the carcass of the fridge to the recycler I assumed the cooling unit with the ammonia would be the thing they would have problems with, but they said that was OK (though they probably don't deal with absorption fridges there so wouldn't know the difference) but what they had to be careful of was the foam insulation, I guess due to the chemicals it gives off if burned.
