How To Video: Changing a Duramax Fuel Filter.

If I'm slow doing it, it might take 10 minutes.
I've never paid a dealer to do it because it's easy to do if you are the type the likes to do your own maintenance.

A Dealer charges my dad at least $100 for the filter change on his truck.

This video applies to LB7-LMM for sure. I think LML and later use a different style filter.

    Good idea. :-)

I had an LBZ concurrently with my LMM. LBZ was easier. I could also pull the filter out the top.

  • I have been changing our fuel filter each summer but can pull it up and out. Carry everything to do the work incaseas we travel.

Access door in the fender well is a huge time saver.
  • The Ram/Cummins guys could really use that access door to access that pesky oil filter.

  • Thank you. Good video for those who have done it and those who have not. Wheel well door really makes access easy. Even though I have done this numerous times it's a good refresher to jog my memory. Everyone should know how to do this as bad fuel will put you on the side of the road quickly. I always carry an extra filter.
