New 2906WS rockwood trailer. Only place for towel bars is the sliding door in bathroom. As most of the door is hollow, wanted suggestions on mounting the bars so as not to pull out of door and also support towel. Thanks.

On my slider , I used baggage door latches with those famous #8 ss screws ๐Ÿ™‚ in the upside down position. When not in use, the flipped up out of the way. They flip down when needed. We used a small fan to help dry the towels and never felt the need to use a towel bar.

Kip, how many towels can you put on one of those towel bars? We need space for four towels to hang and dry at once. That can add some significant weight, especially if one is inclined toward the really thick, fluffy towels - as are we.

We're modeling our sliding door towel rack like we have in the old Itasca Sunrise, except with wood dowels instead of the moving metal racks. Since it will be all wood, it will be heavier, requiring more support than just screws. WLToo will be using the anchors.

So far, in 3 campers, I have installed towel bars and hooks using only #8 SS screws in walls and doors. Not one has ever pulled out. Lots easier than mollies or anchors.

But, once you mount the towel bars, how are you going to slide the door if it is a 'pocket door?'

It's not a pocket door. It slides along the wall by the toilet to close off bedroom and bath. About the only place to put towels within reach of the shower.
