Insurance recommendations

The discount insurance companies make it quite easy to pay your premiums, but when it comes time to make a claim they can sometimes be less accommodating with customer service and settlements. If you never have to make a claim it won't matter, but having a good agent can be useful at times. I look at insurance as a bet that you hope to never cash in.

We used Progressive for our boat and use it for our TT., At the time we got our boat our Auto insurance company didn't insure boats so use Progressive.

I have insurance through The Hartford, and love it. They have great service and so far have had lower, or at least equal, rates to any other insurance I've looked at.

I just quoted my insurance with USAA and they came back 1 1/2 times MORE than my best quote which came as an AARP member from The Hartford Insurance Co. (I was quoting right from my current declarations page and all quotes were for equal coverage)

They were all quoted with a SD address. (much cheaper than ND I might add)

state farm for 3 cars and travel trailer. trailer @500.00 180.00 per year full coverage

I am with progressive for the Rv I have geico for the autos and wanted to combine them all and geico was $590 more a year.... So I checked with combining my autos and Rv with progressive and it was about $1200 more that way so I am keeping the. Separate for now I carry full replacement as well it's dumb not to IMO

So much depends on the state you are in and how the insurance companies view that particular state and the rates in that state.

They have done exstenive research/testing on which states have the lowest rates and which companies have the lowest rates.

I pay just over $100 year for my insurance and it includes $3000 of personal property coverage for stuff in the trailer. This is very important because if you have two laptops, a TV and other electronics in the trailer when something happens most companies don't cover that or cover a lesser amount.

I have National General through GSE.

We have progressive. $200 a year.

Being new to TT towing and having bought a used TT, we bought a four year policy that would pay the "sale price" if totaled.

It was not cheap of course but I figured if I had not driven it off a cliff by then, I could switch to a standard depreciated value policy.
