I'm with Allied Ins (sub of Nationwide Ins)and just had a claim for hail damage costing 25K. The rates have not changed yet!

Would never go back to Progressive.
They raise the price every year. Also I told them what month and day I was
canceling them and they billed me for 1month after.
I tried to fight them and they said they would just turn it over to a bill collector.
I paid it because I didn't need the hassle or a mark on my credit report.

I find if USAA recommends it, it's a pretty decent deal. I did the same thing, called USAA for my RV insurance, they routed me to the Progressive unit that just handles USAA members, and it was all good. A year later, the storage building where our Class A was parked burned to the ground, taking our coach with it. Progressive did a comprehensive review, but fast. Within 2 months, they had made a full and fair settlement and we were able to buy our replacement coach.

I dropped NATIONAL INTERSTATE today and went with PROGRESSIVE VIA USAA. I saved a little over $1000 annually for pretty much the same coverage. Thanks for the advice.

Contact an RV Insurance Specialist in your area. Go old school, call them and ask them which company is best for your particular unit. Ask about agreed value, diminishing deductible, windshield deductible and here's a kicker...who covers power surges NOT from a lightening strike? When you find a friendly voice intelligently answer those questions, give them an opportunity to earn your business.

Jumping from carrier to carrier may be good for some, but it's not always the smartest thing to do. If you don't have any claims you're fine, but when one day you do have that big accident, one thing an insurance company will do is look at how long you've been with them. If they see your history of jumping around there's a good chance they won't allow you to renew with them. On the other hand if you've been with the company for 10 years, then having a big claim won't have as much impact on your future insurance policies. And once a company denies you insurance, good luck finding coverage. I would never switch unless I was convinced the savings were significant, and that it wasn't a bait and switch like somebody described above.

X2 for us. We've used Miller Insurance for many years and they will really work with you to get the best rate from most carriers.

However, every 2-3 years we call and have them check for a cheaper rate. We're not loyal to any one company. A few years Progressive was the cheapest and the next time we checked rates, we found someone else who was cheaper. It's a viscious circle. It does seem that all carriers will raise rates after a time even though you've made no claims. Hard to understand but what are you going to do? That's why we always re-check rates and always have for 50 years or so!! :)
