OK, as promised... Step 2 of winter mods complete...
Turned pantry shelves into slideout pantry.
Used 2 pairs of full slide drawer hardware rated at 100 lbs/pair.
For those that care... Weight of stock shelves/support brackets = 5 lb X 3 = 15 lbs. Weight of this unit = 23 lbs with all hardware and shelf unit.
The difference is approximately same weight as rum bottle.. Working on lightening that up right now :):):)
Did you have to do anything special to attach the drawer hardware to the pantry walls? OR how in the hecko did you do this! :)
Well the pantry is 15" wide but the door is only 12" wide.
There is a 1/4" lip on the right hand side and a 2" lip on the left.
I just used wood 'fillers' behind the slide hardware because I didn't want to cut the lip of the pantry and really mess with the design just in case it didn't work out.
The way it is now if the whole thing doesn't work out, I put everything back the way it was and only have screw holes to fix.
Not that I don't trust the carpenter's workmanship ;)
Picture, without shelf unit installed....
