Hey, has anyone else bent an axle?
We towed our Premier about 4,000 miles last year with no problems.
I noticed the rear tires were tilting in at the top 900 miles into our trip to Florida for spring break. When looking closer, I saw that one tire was showing cord on the inner side.....this could have been a very bad expericane.
I changed the tire and made it to the campground.
I towed my camper to a truck repair place recommened to me by a RV shop. The axle was bent so back they recommended a replacement which I couldn't do as it was going to take a week to get one (custom made). They were able to bend it back in align but was warned that it wouldn't hold ( was starting to sag as I made it back to Ohio).
Will look for a heavier axle (stock 3500lb).
My trailer was loaded (but not overloaded) and I don't remember hitting anything.....just my luck...
I don't know if mine bent or if it was always like this but, I noticed my rear tires were wearing on the inside and I had to get my axle bent back to alignment.
I look at my tires every time I tow it and never noticed any wear at all until I got home from a 500 mile trip and when I put my chocks down I noticed the wearing. I probably had about 5000-6000 miles on it at the time.
Same here, I've never had it over loaded or anything, always towed level....
