I ended up replacing mine myself. I purchased a bolt on replacement from The OEM Parts Store ( great service ) and upgraded to a 3in (vs 2 3/8in). The axle is still rated at 3,500 lbs as it still uses the same drums/brakes etc for the wheels, but it should be much, much stronger now. I did this for less than the cost to pull my camper twice to my dealer and it took me 2 1/2 hours to install.
The only parts needed where the new axle and 3in anchor bolts.
Ready to roll again. Will keep an eye on the front axle and do the same if needed. If I would have known it was this easy, I would have replaced both.
