Kitchen Faucet Replacement

On our week long camping trip at the beach last week, the kitchen faucet started leaking profusely where it connected to the base whenever water was on. I could stop the flow by pushing down on it which required a hot pad when filling the sink with hot water to do dishes.

Where can I look for a replacement part that is built better and will fit? I have never seen one with a base this skinny. The replacement looks easy except that there are 2 drawers in the way which I can't seem to figure out how to remove. The top drawer has a wooden block to prevent it from being pulled from the cabinet. The bottom seems to extend to the stops of the sliders. I have these sliders on drawers in the house, and you can depress a button to remove them. No such animal on these - looks like they were meant to stay. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

The assembly comes apart easy, just unscrew the collar and lift the goose neck out. I did it to be sure the was nothing in the hole when I reassembled it.

These are really inexpensive units which is most likely why they came loose in the first place. The main thing is to check that it is not leaking when the water is running.

It has been my observation that, "RV land is the land of eternal maintenance". 🙂

We hated the faucet in ours. And the plastic sink.
Now we have a SS sink and a decent faucet.

If you have gone past where the threads are tight and stop, it's just a matter of time before you have rbpru's geyser. Hopefully not while you are camping.

So I turned the collar by hand and sure enough, it got tight, then something popped and it got loose again. So I tightened it again until it felt like it was at it's max tightness before popping and hooked up the water - and no leaks.

I'll most likely replace it, but it is not so much a show stopper for the next trip.

trailer faucets are garbage. a good residential faucet is an easy conversion, just get one that covers the holes in the sink

you may have some connection issues, my tt is all pex, so new faucets were easy using the "shark bite" fittings

OK - will try that this evening. It's parked in the driveway presently so I can hook up the hose to test. will let you know. Had not considered trying to turn the collar :S

Ours popped off giving us our own personal geyser. I stuck it back in the hole and tighten it down.

Later I learned it was leaking under the sink. So, I took it apart and it appears that there were two "O" rings and a plastic ring that needed to be properly assembled on the goose neck as it is inserted into the facet base.

Properly assembled it did not leak. I did not have to remove the facet base.

However I did have to remove the drawers because I needed to mop up the leak. My drawers pull out, then the front of the drawer has to be lifted, so the upper wheel clears the lower wheel.

My top drawer is shorter but they both come out.

Have you tried to tighten the flange at the base of the spout?
the water comes out at the place indicated by the arrow. The top part of the faucet pops up - pushing down on it stops the water.

Your right - although even if I get the bottom drawer out, the hole left may not be enough to get to the connections.

Willing to try though.

Have you tried to tighten the collar at the base of the spout? You can unscrew it, clean it, and replace it. Then see if it still leaks.

Well, I'll give instruction on that.... "One leg at a time!" :B :h :E

Sorry, I just couldn't resist!

Keep looking, you'll find a "catch" somewhere ... it starts with the zipper! .... (Oh I did it again) ... :B
