Oddly enough, I've asked Yukon Tourism if there is funding available to help assist with my website expenses and its maintenance/updating. My site is completely ad free and promotes travel in Yukon. I do it because I love Yukon and want to share it with others.

BUT because I'm not a business selling packages to tourists, there is no funding. I need to be a business selling something. It isn't enough to have 4,000 monthly visitors to my website learning about Yukon's grandness!

Go figure. So I continue to keep the site as a hobby. The benefit is I get to meet a lot of great people from around the world!

Dan, while Steve drives I point the Canon G12 out the window in various directions and push the shutter button. That little camera is amazing at capturing good shots while we move down the road.

When we're stopped, maybe hiking or sightseeing, I use a Canon 7D DSLR usually with a 24-105mm Canon lens. Sometimes switch to the 10-22mm wide angle for landscape. For getting close-up and personal with wildlife I usually use the Canon 100-400mm lens.

I have a polarizer but rarely use it. Even though it is a quality one I don't like how it can reduce the sharpness of an image. So only pull it out when shooting on/through water, but even then, rarely!

Garsh Darn It!! After looking at your pictures and those of someone else who must have 4x4 trucks, I am coming to the conclusion that when I replace my 1999 F-250, I'll have to spend the extra $$ for 4x4 so that the wife and I can get to these beautiful off-pavement places. This forum is costing me money:)
