My dad has a 2000 7.3. Great truck but it rides like a dump truck and it's hard to carry on a conversation in it.
Well that's pretty odd----- because compared to my old 5 .9 Cummins my 7.3 sounds great -----and I also have a 2000----7. 3 long bed crew cab ---and I love the way it rides ( and sounds... no problem talking or hearing radio)-:h-- so I guess it's in the beholder.
I wasn't knocking it - it's really been a great truck for him. He bought it new and he says it's the last truck he'll ever own, and at 16 years and no real issues I'd be he's right. He only recently passed 100k miles on it. It's just a truck from a different era compared to the new HD diesels.
His is a 4wd super cab short bed, bright red. The worst thing about the front leafs isn't the ride, either - it's the turning radius.
