I have to say that the 6.7 CTD at idle sounds very quirky to the point it's sounds like there's a cork in the tail pipe. Having said that, remove all the emissions stuff and it sounds like a sweet 5.9 CTD the way it should be.
Ok, since you mentioned sound. The 6.0 and 6.4's had a very noticeable sound coming from the exhaust especially if modified. Loosely place your lips together and blow air between them. Yea that's the sound.
