- downtheroadExplorerHere you go......Battery lock...LINK
- Triker33ExplorerIf they want it, they can cut any chain or lock to get it.
- PenManExplorerI'm with downtheroad. I have had batteries stolen while in our driveway before I got two of these locks (two batteries). No problems since installing them. I use the kind of padlocks like you see on rental storage units that are a little harder to cut with bolt cutters because you can't get to them. Nothing is perfect but you just need to make yours more difficult to steal than the one down the block.
- MikeInOregonExplorerI have the B-D battery lock bars for my two 6 volt batteries. They are good quality and work well when used with a quality padlock. I'm sure that the batteries could still be stolen, but the locks act a deterrent. Hopefully, a thief will move on to an easier target.
I have no reason to think that the batteries will be stolen, but I'd rather take a proactive measure rather than reacting to a theft after it has occurred. - Jebby14Explorerlarge dog
- 2012ColemanExplorer IIAre you worried about theft while traveling or while stored? If you are storing your TT, your best bet would be to disconnect the battery and store in your garage and use a trickle charger to maintain battery health.
- docnascarExplorerI had my battery stolen once. Went with the B & D battery lock and it has been left alone now. The opportunistic thieves, seem to not want to go through the work or noise to cut it off.
I also went with a round shielded lock to add a little extra work for them.
But yeah. If they want it bad enough they can take them.
I also have my propane bottles locked to the frame. - Vulcan_RiderExplorer

Does anyone know a good way to lock the 12V battery to the travel trailer to help deter theft? Thanks.
You need to give us the make and model and an idea of where the battery is located and how it's mounted.
Mine are under the step, inside a locked door and impossible to get to without picking a lock or breaking something.
Is there some special reason you are worried about this ? - harold1946Explorer

The words travel trailer should have given you a clue. The battery/batteries on most all are mounted on the tongue.
If it were inside I doubt it would be an issue. :S - Anmacc2ExplorerForty years of camping and I've never had a battery or propane tank stolen. Wouldn't have ever given it a thought if I hadn't read it here....
