I am almost due for new tires on my Chevy 2500 HD. It came with Goodyear LT265 75 18 highway tires. I am thinking about going with the Michelin LTX A/T 2 tires. I believe these have been an optional 18 tire on Chevy/GM 2500/3500 trucks for a few years.

Have you that have these tires been happy with them. They will cost a couple of hundred more than for 4 Goodyears

I have them on my 11 Silverado 2500HD and with 25K miles on them, have been pleased so far. I think there may be that many more miles in them. The ride is excellent, only complaint is they do generate more road noise.

This what my Michelin tires looked like after 17,000 miles. All six looked this way on both sides.
You will never see me running POS michelins again. They pro-rated them less than 1/2 what I paid for them.

Good Luck

My 2011 F250 came with the same Michelin. I got only about 30000 miles. I put on a BFG, as I didn't want that few of miles again. When we traded for the F350 I was glad to see it came with the BFG. I still like Michelin, but that one set just didn't get any miles out of them.

Michelins are a funny thing. I've had 5+ sets over the years and will likely buy another when the Firestones on my new truck wear out. So far everyone on this thread seems to love them also.

But, I've seen several threads over the years full of pictures of cracked and failing Michelins after a very short period of use. I trust the people having the problems aren't just making things up so I'm a bit confused. Again, I'll buy another set but I am always keeping an eye out for problems at a given time or with a given size/style.

You only have two choices in the stock size. The Goodyears or the Michelins. I had the Goodyears and they sucked. I went to a 275/70/18. That opened up a world of different choices.

Over the years I have owned 7 sets of Michelins. Never wish I would have bought a cheaper set of tires. LTX MS2 on truck, XPS Ribs on trailer and Symetrys on car. I think they are the best there is.

My dad has the AT/2 on his truck, I actually like the MS/2 better. I am a Michelin buyer, so when I look at tires it will be a Michelin. My dad really likes his, says they are very quite and smooth.

My truck came with those very tires and I'm very happy with them, even towing a 15,000lb 5th wheel. So far going on 30,000 miles, approx 8-10,000 towing and still a lot of tread left. I rotate every 5,000+- miles.
