I just purchased a 11'6 " grizzly Northland
Brand new fridge electric jacks great camper bit heavier than my 9'6 "bigfoot but way more room.everything works great there was small leak on a fitting behind the toilet when I hooked up the water but as soon as completely pressurized it the leak was gone.I am not sure what the roof is made of maybe rubber. The only thing so far that's safety issue is the lp/carbon monoxide detector has no lights on it.I checked the fuses and idea's?

It probably goes to the fuse panel. On mine, the detectors and the lights were all on one circuit.

I can't imagine it runs to the battery direct. You'd want fuse protection so the smoke detector doesn't become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Give Northland a call. I had Northland camper and they were good to talk to. Maybe they can come up with how it is wired.

long as I csn Get power tooth. If the lines don't have power which they appear not to I will just run new wires to the battery

Thanks joe
Just have trace it out and see where the wires go.
I would imagine like someone previous statement
It's probably direct link to the battery?

You said the fuses "look good" but I have had bad ones look good. Connect the black lead to a good ground and measure to both sides of the fuses, should have power on both. It could also be an open ground circuit. Verify continuity from the detector ground back to the main ground.

I've also found where one manufacturer used the white wire as the ground while another used the black wire as the ground. Verify which way your camper is wired.

I've bought two campers that the detector had no power. Both were because the previous owner had disconnected them to keep them from alarming while trying to sell the camper. I connected the wiring and after a while the alarm would sound momentarily.

One had the oven pilot turned on without being lit and the other had the flexible gas line leaking at the regulator.

I also had a 12 volt circuit that didn't work where someone had tried added a wire for a fan, but the original wire had slid out from under the screw while tightening the screw.

Good luck

Good point rob south so it probably goes directly to the battery?

Why would your monitor, a 12 volt item, be wired to your inverter which changes 12 volsts to 120 volts? Maybe you mean the "converter" which changes 120 volts to 12 volts?

It's hard to get the volt meter on the wire
But I'm pretty sure there was no power there
Tracing that out would be chore I assume asall the
Wire is hidden pretty well although only four feet from the inverter.
The thin wire that attached tothe unit doesn't appear to be on the inverter anywhere

Yes if I do then the unit is toast if not
There's wire off somewhere..I am not the best wiring person 🙂

You might pull it out and verify you have 12volts going to it.
