My Method of Loading Camper in Truck
Here are some pics that pretty much tell the story on how I align my camper into my truck.
I use the center line tape to align with a center point on the camper.
I have a 2 x 6 against the front truck bed wall.
I have two 1 x 3's along each side against the wheel wells.
All of wood is just standing on end, no permanent fastening, when the camper is unloaded I just stick them in the back of the camper along with the Torklift tie downs.
There is less than 1/2" of play between the camper and the two pieces of wood, so if I back up with the drivers side (easy to see) literally right up against the wood and just back up straight I am in perfectly. The side benefit of the 1 x 3's is that there is no sliding side to side at all.
I have to use the 2 x 6 in the front because my Torklift wobble-stoppers when in storage mode on my swing out jacks come very close to my rear crew cab doors when opening and closing them, so I had to back the camper off a few inches. I will explain that in a later post.
