Need help with dutchmen/keystone

Purchased new aspen trail 2810 three mos ago. Brought it to dealership for warranty work and noticed my front cap has caved in. Dealership has contacted duthmen and they only authorized them for .3 hours of labor. Dealership has asked them for 4 hours. Now the service advisor asked for my help to contact them and have them approve the labor needed to fix the problem.

What should i tell them when i call them?
  • I work in the warranty department for a supplier to the RV industry. Typically the time allotted to repair is determined for the specific issue/replacement of parts and any additional time requested by the dealer could cause delays. IMO it will not speed up the process by the dealer having the retail customer call the manufacturer. If you do choose to call Dutchmen ask the dealership why they feel that the additional labor is needed. If it was me and this is the dealer I purchased the unit from I would insist that they get it fixed and then they can figure out the labor issue with Dutchmen. Its not the retail customers problem.
  • I think your dealer should ask the factory service department how to repair it.Dealer takes money and hasn't got a clue how to service and deal with factory, again and again we hear this situation, mention lawyers that always helps when you threaten people.Good luck.
  • You guys are right that i shouldnt have to do anything. We are trying to get this trailer back by the end of the month and they are not getting the authorization they need to get this done by then. He said that if it came from the customer, dutchmen tends to speed up the process
  • You shouldn't have to be doing anything. Get another service advisor that knows what's going on.
  • Tell them to authorize whatever needs to be done to fix your trailer or that your lawyer will be contacting them.
