Need Ideas for New Trailer

Some slides are not meant to be walked on when retracted. Our Keystone is that way. But, you can get around it if you need to, and the bath has an exterior door...

This is our layout and it allows us to do what you are looking for. The rear kitchen counter gives a LOT more counter space than the majority of TTs made. Sofa is usable with slide in. Need to move the slide out at least a few inches to get into the bathroom but has never been an issue for us. Jayco and one or two other manufacturers make a similar layout.

We love the very easy access to kitchen and bath with our slide fully in.

And although popping the slide a little during a stop is OK for many, I've been in places where even 6" would have me worried either about someone running into it or me forgetting about it until I look in my rearview mirror.

The Wind River looks like a more spacious living/dining area, but I'm now very attached to how large and comfortable our rear bath is. And our counter space for cooking is very hard to beat.

You probably don't need the slide out the full 38 inches to get access to essentials.

I agree that being able to access everything with the slide in is a red herring. Get the layout size and quality you like and can afford. The slide will move at the touch of a button anytime you want to access anything that is blocked. whe stopping for lunch etc there is always enough room.

Don't let using the facilities be your determining factor. Out first trailer we could get at everything without extending the slides BUT we found over the years we can always extend the slides for a quick lunch be it a parking lot- rest stop- truck stop- whatever.
Get the floorplan you'll be happy with.

Look at the trailer in my signature. Yes it's a hybrid, but the tent end doesn't prevent 6 or even 8-12 people (if they love each other) from using it without extending the tent. In other words, the tent part is optional :)

Bad part is, I've not seen many like it. Kinda rare design.

My Sunnybrook does everything you have listed.

My TT has clearance to get into the bathroom with the slides in. But honestly, it takes 2 seconds to push a button to put the slide out. I put em out in a rest area, walmart parking lot, pretty much any place we stop for lunch. I don't see it as a priority to have to get in the bathroom with the slide in.
For me, quality first(for a given price point), layout second. (Although if I knew more when I bought my current TT, I might own an ArcticFox with dual pane windows) But I do like what I have.
