If you've got some time to wait and not forced to pull the trigger now, Ford has a new 7.0L gasser coming out soon. According to the rumor mill, it will go into the 2019 Raptor, but is designed to replace the 6.2L
That engine is rumored to have 575 HP and 625 lb/tq with a 10 sp transmission. Don't know if it will be de-tuned for the 250's and up, but it would probably be safe to think it would for longevity's sake.
Actually a leaked confidential engine oil specification list for the 2020 engines has it listed as a 7.3L and is rumored to be a pushrod engine.
Either way it's going to be a beast and I would hold off for one more model year. Kind of like cummins98V waiting for the new cummins engine per the cummins tour lady in know who gave him a wink and blew a kiss in his ear. That CGI block cummins is going to is way over due.
