New TT

We went and traded in our HTT for a new Passport 2920BH a week ago and took it on a nice 600 mile round trip this weekend. There was nothing wrong with the hybrid but we were looking for a little more. This unit has a standard queen walk around mattress and 4 bunks in the back so we can fit the two kids and friends if they come along. The bathroom is larger and the construction quality is much better than my KZ. I just wish I could have figured it out before I bought the hybrid since I took it in the pants a bit on the trade. I guess it was something I had to experience first. There is not much that I want to change on the new unit. The first thing that I did change was the queen mattress. The one that came with it was horrible. I also need to vent the hood on the stove. We cook inside only when we have to but, without the vent, it will definitely set off the smoke detector when cooking. I'm not sure why they didn't do this. The hood has a vent fan I just need to cut the hole and install the vent. Besides that I'm very happy with the unit.

I installed the Equalizer E4 WDH and it tows really nice. No issue on the highway or up steep grades. It didn't even hit the gas mileage as bad as I thought it would.

We are already planning our next trip.

Nice choice, and you might try a good quality foam mattress topper before replacing the mattress. Very popular mod.

I replaced the mattress the day I brought it home. I went to a local discount mattress store. I got a decent queen size for $250.
  • Congrats...
I still haven't spent a night in the new/old trailer, though I think an air matrass might be more comfortable than the seat back design they use. (seat backs on upside down dining table makes a large bed)
  • Yep, buy your 2nd/3rd/10th RV first. Save a lot. :) Enjoy!
  • Congratulations on your new TT. I don't understand why manufacturers don't just put in better mattresses as a standard. If they added an extra hundred or two on the price, people wouldn't complain. It is a pain to have to go out and buy new items just to be able to use and enjoy your new unit.

When we bought our 27/30' TT I thought we could do with a smaller one. Hubby insisted and I am glad he did.
