$1400 seems very high. I just ordered and received OEM Ford original tow mirrors for $470 from Amazon for my 2011 F150. I will be able to install tomorrow. 2nd party OEM mirrors can be bought for under $300.
My tow mirrors are manually extendable/foldable and have power/heated mirrors, puddle lights, and signal indicators. I have tried slip on aftermarket mirrors and I think they are worth as much as you pay for them...not much.
