Well we took delivery about 2 weeks ago 2013 Shadow Cruiser 314tsb it is a nice rig I didn't make it 2 miles from the dealer and turned around and went back my brake controller was set at 10 and I didn't feel the tt brakes were adjusted correctly. Dealer took it for a ride came back and said they were fine! I don't think there fine. So today I was dewinterizing getting ready for a short trip were taking next Saturday I went to check the tire pressure 1 tire 65lbs fine. second third and fourth tire the valve stems were so cracked I broke one just putting a tire gauge on it. So I put the spare on and dragged it back to the dealer I dropped it in his lot and will call him in am with a list of stuff. I'm really kinda ticked off now I mean when they prepped the thing these things should have been caught. I fully expect these issues to be taken care of OR There's gonna be a PROBLEM. When I dropped it off I also smelled a burning smell (brakes maybe). My F150 has a built in controller and 10 is as high as it goes and set on 10 no way could I lockem up.

Is the camper new?Did the dealer provide a warranty?

it is new and a 1 year warranty. not trying to be tough just want it to be right and will settle for no less

Then you better learn how to take care of things yourself. The word "right" is definitely not in the RV industries nomenclature.

I feel your pain. I'm not sure, though, the trailer brakes should lock up. If you apply just the trailer brakes manually, do they slow you down at all?

I guess I was lucky when I purchased my tt. It was my first new trailer and I did not do a complete inspection with a magnifying glass. I assumed if I had problems with it the dealer would fix it, just like a new car. Fortunately the only problem I ever had with it was a broken water valve, which the dealer did fix. If I bought a trailer with the valve stems rotting off I'd be upset too.

I agree you should not have to look at everything during delivery but you are finding out what happens when you don't.
For the record you can inspect the whole thing you simply need to approach the PDI as though it matters and not assume everything is in order.
Giving it a quick cursory glance will only come back to haunt you. A thorough PDI can easily take a few hours hours.
Yes a thorough PDI can be a hassle but it will ensure your rig is in working order before you leave the lot. Returning to the dealer for nuisance items is also a hassle.
It is much easier to give it a thorough review and tell the dealer to call me when it's ready vs. returning to the dealer 2-3 times or more to get things right.
Sounds like your dealer is making progress.

FWIW, I agree that whenever your trailer rolls it's your responsibility to be sure it's A-OK. But c'mon guys, the OP picks his TT up fresh from a PDI and he is supposed to re-check the tire pressure and valve stems? That's not reasonable. The dealer should have made that trailer A #1 before it left his lot and for him not to do so was not right. The OP had every right to take it back and get it fixed. If the wheels had fallen off on the way home from the dealer is that the OP's fault? Hardly!

So it has nothing to do with what we were discussing,as I thought.

The dealer is obligated to repair any issues covered by warranty as per their agreement in selling the new units for the manufacturer. Also to present the unit in new condition as they are paid to do so...PDI!

This discussion is getting off track as my original premise still remains.....that there are simply far to many keyboard warriors who sit on these types of forums looking to attack OP's and not enough individuals who offer up suggestions or ideas on how to assist and support the people who are going through the issues. Blame the purchaser of new TT and not the dealers/manufactures of them is nuts. They took your money the very least you can expect is them to stand behind them.

I bought new from a local dealer for this very reason!
