Painting window frames??

I'm looking to paint my "white" window frames on my North Trail black.I searched and couldn't find much info on doing this. Has anyone tackled this before or have any info to share??
  • Its just painted aluminum. Paint it like you would paint anything else for outdoor use. Lightly sand them with 400 or 600 grit paper. Clean them with a good surface cleaner. Spray with any good quality paint in a can made for metal and the outdoors. Tape it all off. Prior to spraying, warm up a pan of water, not hot, but very warm. Stick the can it in for a few minutes. This improves flow and gives you a more even spray, spray cans normally are not the best way to paint. Optionally you can follow up with a clear coat sealer.
  • Lebout, thanks for the reply!! However, I'm not talking about the door frame. I'm referring to all of the other side wall window frames.
  • Yup. The window frames in my two doors were yellow and the rest of the windows have a black trim so I decided to paint the door window frames black. Just masked them off with tape and paper and used a semi-gloss spray paint. Turned out pretty good.
