Patio Mat Anchors?

Cooper

I am looking for suggestions on what to use to hold down my patio mat, and keep it from blowing, when placed on a concrete pad.

I was thinking of using 1 gallon water jugs in each corner but wondered if anyone had a better idea given that stakes can't be used on the concrete.

I have used small rocks before. They are actually very abundant out here in the west at many CG's pick 4 and place.

OMG! we've never staked ours and it's never moved an inch. By the time we set the chairs out + 2 small drink tables + the cooler next to the trailer, that mat isn't going anywhere. We also have a medium size dog who holds down one corner. If it's THAT windy, we most likely wouldn't be camping. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it disappearing.

One of our tricks we use is to stake beyond the concrete pad then use light weight rope tied to corner loops of mat and tie to stakes. Used this when we tent camped when using a tarp under mat to keep tent cleaner.

Personally, I agree with this last suggestion.
But if you want to have a mat out on the concrete, how about 1 gallon milk jugs? They'd be light to transport and you could fill them up at the CG.

Umm, the picnic table?

With the popup, I used to be able to get the stabilizers down on the edges. Doesn't work with the TT we have now though.

We just drop the picnic table on it and call it good now.

Since we are throwing ideas out there, maybe using 2- 6' long landscaping lumber. The rounded side style. I know they are a weight penalty but they store well in the pass thru compartment. It will also look nice like you have a boarder. Easy enough to step over. You may need a third for the long edge.

I put the jacks down on the edge just enough to hole it in place.

Long nails with fender washers. They work great and are easy to tap into ground and remove. Use small nylon zip tie to keep nail on washer when not in use.

Hmmm, the OP was asking about keeping the mat on concrete. Don't think that's a good option.

Sure it is. I forgot to mention the hammer drill. ๐Ÿ˜‰
