I charge my phone at night. one of the new Androids that uses the Turbo charging system 2X.My Wolf Creek has a USB charger built into it, but it don't even work when the shore power is plugged in.There is also a 12V outlet present. But when I am boon docking, I don't have 120V and the 200W solar only boost the voltage during the day time but I need to charge at night. I have Two 90Ah 12v AGM batteries,so surely I can afford to charge a phone.can any body recommend USB charger that meets the following:1) will run off 12V. standard 12V car type plug, OR replace my 12V USB adapter that is in panel mount.2) Will run off 12V, meaning batteries are not being charged by solar or AC power, so it will not be 13.X volts, it will be 12.4v-12.7V that you see with a battery that has a little load on it.all the car chargers seem to be designed to be used when the car is running, which means they see 13.X volts

I haven't actually had a problem charging with a 12V power outlet and typical cell phone charger.I use a Samsung charger that can do adaptive charging for my Note 4 and we use an Apple certified charger for wife's iphone. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FK6G59O/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 is the one we have for the iphone. It's a fast charger.

I just use a 12V adapter in the lighter plug.

What Jim said.I use a standard 99 cent usb car charger, off my house battery.Or, if I want to be extra inefficient, I use the usb socket on my 120v power strip that is plugged into the inverter ;). I figure it doesn't matter much, for the amount of juice a phone uses.

thanks.I found one on amazon, plugs into 12v outlet, and had 2 outlets. one outlet is Charge 2 for my Android and the other outlet is standard USB for her apple. hopefully this will work as we become less dependent on shore power and more dependent on solar.I did monitor today as I lifted the camper from low level up to 40" to load it on my truck, all done without AC hooked up, when I was done I went in and Bogart still said 100% charged. this tells me that all 4 jacks running was supported 100% by my 200w solar system :)

Make sure it is 2+ amps for every USB outletExample on amazon

it has one port that is the "charge 2" that my android needs, and one port that is 2.4a that my wife's Iphone needs.

Edit: part received and working fine. yes lower jack does my Turbo Charge (charge 2) and upper is good for normal fast charge USB devices.

I've used mine many times also for charging our iphones, seemed to work fine.

Turbo charger spec is 9 or 12v output, not typical 5v of normal USB. Could be your charger is the 12v version and there is insufficient headroom for it to regulate with (12.7-12.0) for example.

Look into a turbo charger that advertises 9v output, that should work well with lower 12v input.

Yep had that issue. That's why I went with 12v sockets. Those blue sea deals are nice, but overpriced IMO.

A brief warning from my experience. We found 12 volt plugin chargers that did the job on our Iphones and flip phone, I forgot to pull them out after charging and our two diesel starting batteries were doornail dead in two days, one of the charging recepticles was not wired to the key off circuit in our 2004 F350.

Mine work great, just got home from 11 days on the road and charged two iphones each day without issue. I'd check to see if someone forgot to wire it up.....but I do like the usb with built in voltage! Too cool.

I hate where they are though...really...by my feet? Thanks Northwood.....

Just reminding people that there is more to USB charging that just power. Many devices have smart charging now. That's not going to work with a basic USB port.

RangerTim - Just curious of those are the BLUE SEA dual ports... If so note that both sides are connected to 12VDC separately... Might be a loose push-on 12VDc cable spade connector...

Our USB outlets in the new Wolf Creek don't work either. So far they are the only DOA problem with it. The 12V socket next to it does work however and we use that to charge devices. I used a Hyperjuice conversion kit to modify my Mac charger cord so I can charge it directly from 12V DC.

Frustrated with the USB charging outlets though. Will probably pull them out to see what the problem is.

I too am having good luck with BLUE SEA DUAL USB ports in my setups...

Available from AMAZON

I just order a couple more recently and also got one of these BLUE SEA Panels for my truck that has a smale 12VDC meter... This will help big time monitoring the 12VDC on a meter inside the truck.

havent installed it yet...
